Julie Yankey brought her vast professional experience spanning many sectors, from corporate to education, to Horizon Group as the director of research and strategy.
An Iowa native, Julie grew up in Dubuque before attending college, where she studied and worked abroad in 15 different countries. After graduation, she spent two years working in southern California before moving back to central Iowa to pursue her graduate studies.
Julie’s ease in building positive working relationships has been evident throughout her career. She spent ten years at Iowa State University, specializing in international project management and research. Her love for research and building strategic partnerships then led her to Drake University, where she spent five years as a research specialist and director of partnerships in addition to teaching courses on diversity, equity, and inclusion. She also served as the executive director at Vitality Healthcare, leading the organization’s business development and research strategy. Julie is currently serving as a board member of CultureAll.
Julie brings a wealth of expertise and guidance to research projects. With an extensive background in research and a commitment to meaningful impact, Julie is instrumental in helping the team navigate uncharted territories in the quest for valuable insights and actionable strategies.
Julie lives in Des Moines with her husband, Joe, son, Will, and dog, Charlie. In her free time, she can be found outdoors biking, skiing, hiking, or boating.
