Adriana Slaughter

Program Manager

Adriana Slaughter serves as a Program Manager, supporting both the Iowa Afterschool Alliance and Capital Crossroads. She comes to Horizon Group with experience in higher education, program management, client services, and training.

Growing up in the River Bend Neighborhood of Des Moines, Adriana was actively involved in various out-of-school time programs, instilling in her a deep appreciation for the impact and importance these programs have in communities. These experiences helped her become the first high school graduate in her family, eventually leading to her being the first person in her family to graduate with a college degree.

Adriana is driven by the belief that everyone deserves a chance to thrive. She craves to move the world in a more equitable direction by enhancing community and educational success initiatives.

Adriana is a proud homeowner in the Oak Park neighborhood of Des Moines. She lives with her partner, Dallas, and two cats, Shego and Salem. Outside of work, you can find Adriana at a thrift store, reading, on her deck enjoying nature, or checking things off her extensive bucket list.
